Apple’s iPhone 16 series is making its debut today at their ‘It’s Glowtime’ event. While Apple hasn’t officially revealed the specs yet, here’s what we expect based on leaks and rumors.
iPhone 16 India Price:
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to start at the same prices as last year—around ₹64,000 and ₹72,000 for the 128GB models, respectively. With the recent reduction in excise duty on mobile phones in India, we might see a price drop For reference, the iPhone 15 was launched at ₹79,990 in India.
iPhone 16 Design:
Design changes are anticipated for the iPhone 16. The vertical camera layout, reminiscent of the iPhone X and iPhone 12, is expected to replace the previous diagonal design. This new layout could improve spatial video capture. Additionally, Apple might replace the mute button with an Action Button, similar to what was introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro. There could also be a new ‘Capture’ button for video recording, zooming, and focusing. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the iPhone 16 will come in five colors: black, green, pink, blue, and white, potentially phasing out the blue and yellow options.
iPhone 16 Processor:
Reports indicate that all models in the iPhone 16 series will use the new A18 chipset, which enhances AI capabilities and performance. The iPhone 16 Pro models may offer superior GPU performance and higher clock speeds compared to the standard versions. We also expect an upgrade in RAM from 6GB to 8 GB.
iPhone 16 Camera:
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are likely to keep the same camera setup as last year. This setup features a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.6 aperture and 2x optical zoom, along with an ultra-wide lens that offers 0.5x zoom. The ultra-wide lens might get a minor upgrade with an f/2.2 aperture, allowing more light and improving low-light photography. There’s also a chance these models will introduce macro photography for the first time.
iPhone 16 Display and Price:
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to retain the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED displays with a 60Hz refresh rate. The pricing should remain around ₹64,000 and ₹72,000. However, there’s speculation that Apple might use new micro-lens technology to boost brightness and reduce power consumption.
